1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Northstar platform ("Service"), including our web chat widget and SMS communication features, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Northstar provides an AI-powered communication platform for small businesses. The Service facilitates conversations between customers and businesses through web chat and text messaging. The Service is intended for appointment scheduling, general inquiries, and business information only.
3. Not Medical Advice
The Service does not provide medical or dental diagnoses, treatment plans, or prescriptions. Automated responses are for informational and scheduling purposes only. For medical emergencies, call 911 or visit your nearest emergency room. For urgent dental concerns, contact your dental provider directly.
4. User Responsibilities
When using the Service, you agree to:
- Provide accurate contact information when requested.
- Not use the Service for any unlawful or unauthorized purpose.
- Not attempt to disrupt, manipulate, or interfere with the Service or its automated systems.
- Not transmit harmful, abusive, or objectionable content.
5. SMS Communications
Missed-call text-back: When you call a business that uses the Northstar app and your call goes unanswered, you may receive one (1) automated SMS text message sent by Northstar on behalf of that business. This message notifies you that your call was missed and invites you to continue the conversation via text. By placing a call to a Northstar-enabled business phone number, you acknowledge and consent to receipt of this one-time automated text message if your call is not answered.
Web chat and form opt-in: If you submit your phone number through a web chat widget or contact form powered by Northstar, you consent to receive SMS messages from that business through our platform related to your inquiry or appointment.
Message frequency: The missed-call text-back program sends one (1) message per missed call. Subsequent messages are sent only in response to replies you initiate.
Message and data rates: Message and data rates charged by your mobile carrier may apply to messages you send or receive.
Opt-out: Reply STOP to any message to opt out of all further SMS communications from that business through our platform. You will receive a single confirmation message and will not be contacted again unless you re-opt in by replying START.

No marketing use: Your phone number and message content are not sold to third parties and are not used for marketing programs unrelated to the business you contacted.
Supported carriers: Major US carriers are supported. Carrier availability is not guaranteed for all networks and Northstar is not liable for undelivered messages.
6. AI-Generated Responses
Portions of the Service use artificial intelligence to generate responses. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors or incomplete information. The business and Northstar are not liable for decisions made based solely on AI-generated responses. A member of the business's team may follow up to confirm details.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, features, and content, is owned by Northstar and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without prior written consent.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Northstar and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
9. Dental Practice Responsibility
Each business using Northstar is independently responsible for the accuracy of its own information, availability, and service offerings. Northstar acts as a communication platform and does not guarantee the services offered by any business.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the District of Columbia, without regard to conflict of law principles.
